QA Analyst - Intermediate

Position Highlights

We are seeking an Intermediate Quality Assurance Analyst to join the Information Management Insurance & Contact Centre

team. They analyze current systems to create and maintain strong data quality practices. The ideal candidate has experience

within a Big Data or Relational Data Warehouse environment.

The Information Management team uses Scala and SQL to perform “Data Preparation” and Tableau to create self-service

dashboards. The team is using the latest in Big Data technologies such as StreamSets, Hadoop and Spark.

Accountabilities will include:

• Creating test plans, schedules and strategies; developing test scripts and test data requirements; use modern test tools to

execute tests.

• Understanding of system architecture, test automation and performance testing at an intermediate level.
• Document test results, objectives, data sets and status reports.
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to test teams.
• Clearly communicate business requirements and defects to stakeholders.
• Conduct walkthrough of test artifacts to various stakeholders.
• Create and execute automated acceptance tests leveraging appropriate tools.

Position Requirements

To make an immediate contribution in this role, you will bring demonstrated experience in the above mentioned activities, as well

as:

• Demonstrated experience in business acceptance, functional testing methods and standards to identify test objectives in a data

environment.

• Experience using test and defect management tools (JIRA).
• Basic understanding of Agile and traditional quality metrics.
• Ability to design and create test cases that can be used for automation utilizing Big Data technologies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and collaboration skills.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and complete multiple concurrent tasks in an environment of changing deadlines, priorities and

requirements.

• Demonstrated experience of creating manual test cases from acceptance test criteria.
• Demonstrated experience of executing manual test cases as well as exploratory functional testing.
• Demonstrated experience in agile approach, user interface/ user experience modelling at an intermediate level.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming such as Java, Scala, Python.
